Carlos Marqués-Marcet

After a long career directing short films, 10 in total, that awarded him many prizes –the DGA Student Award, Premio INJUVE, Frankenheimer Award, etc.–, Carlos Marqués-Marcet recently premiered his first long film, 10.000 Km, achieving great critic and public success. The Spanish Film Academy granted Carlos the Goya for best new director in 2015, and his film was awarded 12 different prizes in several other festivals, including best director, best new script and best new film in the Málaga film festival and three Gaudí awards in the same categories.

Carlos has a very particular way of looking at things and a way of directing that owes much both to his European heritage and his learning years in the US -he is  half-based in Los Angeles. His gift directing actors manages to make his stories jump from the screen and have the audience forget about the camera.
